Demographics:

Within Saanich in 2016 according to the Canada Census data there were 65,515 individuals between the ages of 50 and 79. Of those 65,515, 30,285 were females and 35,225 were males. Within that demographic the age range of 50-64 contained 25,150 individuals and 40,356 from the age of 65-79.

According to the 2011 Canada Census data there were 38,745 individuals in Saanich between the ages of 50-79. That is an increase of 59.1% from 2011-2016.

Of those individuals the median total income in Saanich for in 2016 was $37,300. More details can be found within the link below.

In Saanich alone in 2016 98,470 individuals had a post-secondary education.

 Of those CHEK News, CBC Radio One, Victoria News, and Saanich News rely on advertising more than any others.

According to the Pew Research Centre 64% of individuals 50-64 use social media, and 37% of individuals 65 and older use social media. The Pew Research Centre showed that 56% of individuals over the age of 50 use YouTube, 55% use Facebook, 7% use Snapchat, 16% use Instagram, and 14% use Twitter. Ages 50-64 use typically two social media platforms, where those 65 or older use one. It appears that the most popular social media platforms within the demographic of individuals ages 50-79 are YouTube and Facebook.

The Fitness Industry within Greater Victoria has several facilities both privately and publicly owned, however many only offer adult, youth or family memberships.
