News Priorities

I find in my younger years I would read newspapers mostly for the comics, that was the thing I knew was coming every Saturday. As a family if we went somewhere my parents would pick up a newspaper and we would separate it so we would each be reading a different section.

Now I find that I never read newspapers, but I do still occasionally read magazines. In terms up keeping up with the news I find I don’t pay as much attention to it as I should.

I feel as though much of the time reading the news lately is a much more negative experience because there are so many horrible things going on in the world. It’s a way to try not to think about it, even though it’s going on around you sometimes you don’t want to.

For Camosun College the public relations area is very important because you have to be aware of what is going on with all aspects of the school. It is very different than public relations within a business because you could be dealing with students, teachers, parents and more. It is also different in the sense that you could be talking about a student, (someone who is paying to be there), or a teacher (someone who is paid to be there).
